Sioux Falls plays host to a handful of upcoming tournaments for both basketball and swimming & diving. We have compiled a list of some of our favorite activities and stops along the way while you are in town for the action. With events such as the NSIC Swimming & Diving Championships, NSIC Basketball Championships, NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship, and the Summit League Basketball Championships, Sioux Falls is about to become an NCAA mecca.

So you will be in Sioux Falls to cheer on your favorite team. Now what? You need activities before and after the game. Let us show you a few of our recommendations.

Get your gear

A League of Your Own may not necessarily have all of the apparel for your favorite college team, but they do have a good selection of merchandise for your favorite NFL, NHL, and MLB teams. Pick something up for yourself, and don't forget to grab a shirt for your friend back home! Let's be honest, no one wants to be that person who claims to be a fan of a team but doesn't own any apparel.

Let's eat!

It's time to fuel up on food before you make your way to the game to get loud and proud. There's not many better combinations than burgers and sports, and we can't think of a better place for that than JL Beers. This local hotspot has a variety of burgers for you to choose from, or you can create your own and pile the toppings on high. As for sides, be sure to try the Loaded Chips (or fries if you prefer). Fresh cut and fried potato chips topped with beer cheese, diced jalapenos and bacon bits. And oh ya, they also have 30+ tap and bottled beer for you to choose from.

Another hidden gem for burger fans is TapHouse 41. Enjoy gourmet burgers and sides that almost look too good to eat. (Think Instagram-worthy burgers that are bigger than your mouth.) Our favorite has to be the Baja Burger - smoked hot pepper jack cheese, smashed avocado, jalapeno bacon, tomato, lettuce, salsa, lime creme, and roasted garlic mayo. Be sure to order a side of their Duck Fat Fries which are to die for! Not only does this place have a large beer menu, but they also have an even larger bourbon menu that will make any connoisseur jealous.

Post-Game

You will need something to soothe your throat after all the cheering. Whether you are drinking in celebration, or drinking your sorrows away after a tough loss, our breweries will certainly hit the spot. Stop downtown for a tour on Brewer's Row, which consists of WoodGrain, Monks House of Ale Repute, Remedy, and Fernson On 8th. Be sure to also visit our other breweries, Miner and Hydra. No matter what kind of beer you prefer, you are sure to find a brewery that is perfect for you.

For the non-beer fans, we definitely recommend a stop at Carpenter Bar for a nightcap. Enjoy a signature cocktail as you relax in this swanky, upscale atmosphere in Downtown Sioux Falls. Warm up by their fireplace as you sip on classics such as a Manhattan, Tom Collins, Martini or perhaps something unique that you have never had before. Whatever the case is, we are certain that this is a place you will be returning to the next time you are in town.

Final Day

Before you hit the road on your way out of Sioux Falls, get some quality time in the great outdoors of South Dakota! Try out snowshoeing or cross-country skiing at The Outdoor Campus for a fun, relaxing activity. Trek your way through miles of trails that wind through trees, prairie grass, and along the banks of water. You will be a seasoned pro in no time!

You can't make a trip to Sioux Falls without a stop at Falls Park! As the namesake of our city, this incredible gem features a triple-cascading waterfall with over 3,000 gallons of water dropping every second. Pro tip: make your way to the top of the five-story observation tower for a breathtaking view of the area!

Don't forget a snack for the road! Half Baked serves up some of the best cupcakes and other baked goods in the area, and they're a perfect treat for that ride home. Try delicious items such as their Boston Cream Pie Cupcakes, Salted Caramel Bars, or their Peanut Butter Supreme Cookie Sandwiches.

Another great option for dessert lovers is Stensland Ice Cream. This local creamery produces some of the area's best ice cream with flavors such a Blueberry Cheesecake, Peanut Butter Blunder, Strawberry Fields and many more!
