Why Sioux Falls, South Dakota?
Sioux Falls is home to new and state-of-the-art venues for conferences, meetings, and events. You’ll not only love to gather here, but you’ll also enjoy sites you’ll only find in Sioux Falls.
First off, you’ll love the Falls.
We’re always asked, “If you had to choose one thing to do in Sioux Falls, what would it be?” Our answer is always to visit Falls Park. We’re known for our beautiful waterfalls, unique rock formations, and rich history that centers around the river. We have a café adjacent to the Falls where you can dine, and many groups enlist the CVB team’s help to arrange a group picnic in the summer months. Even in winter, before the holidays, the park is still a major attraction with its festive light displays.
Second, we’re easy to get to.
For regional attendees traveling from other areas in South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Nebraska, Sioux Falls is easy to get to. We’re located on the junction of two major midwest interstates, I-90 and I-29, and are only four hours from Minneapolis and St. Paul. We also have the Sioux Falls Regional Airport (FSD), which is only an eight-minute drive from downtown Sioux Falls. So we’re easy to get to by road or by air.
We have major city amenities...
...without the crime or crowds.
During the warm months, people love to walk around our city—especially our downtown area. You and your fellow travelers will feel safe at every corner of our high-pedestrian areas, day or night. Also, we’ve really never seen anyone fight over a parking spot or get stuck in traffic, either.
Plus, we’ll help you stay on budget.
We have everything you’ll find in a major city, plus attractions you’ll only find in Sioux Falls. What’s more is you’ll likely save on your event costs, including your convention space, hotel rates, and even parking.

Our downtown scene is rich with history, and the local owners have worked hard to preserve the historic architecture of many buildings. It’s safe to walk around the main downtown blocks day or night, which is why there is always something going on! Unique to downtown Sioux Falls is the SculptureWalk, local restaurants and pubs, and boutique shops.
Throughout town, the arts, music, and theater scene is apparent. During your downtime, encourage your group to check out the Washington Pavilion. They host many events throughout the year, including music by the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, Broadway and regional performances, and rotating art exhibitions. The Orpheum Theater Center is also downtown and features plays, concerts, and dance performances. And this is only a small portion of what’s happening in the arts community here.
